My Colour Cure Review
If you know me, you know I love nail wraps. Why? No chipping, easy to apply…NO DRY TIME! I mean, how does it get better than that?
The other reason? I’m terrible at painting my nails. I mean for real, it’s bad.
So when Colour Cure was announced I was intrigued: it’s a nail polish, but it’s a gel, but it’s a nail polish?? No one else has anything like it on the market? They are calling it a Hybrid…ok, let’s break this down!
When you are done it is dry and beautiful – no need to wipe away stickiness (in fact, this product does not mesh well with alcohol, so avoid wiping with alcohol, trust me.)
Here’s my first Colour Cure mani…swoon!
Things I Loved:
This product is very forgiving. (Remember how bad I am at painting??!!) I felt like it was easy to correct mistakes like weird bubbling or too much thickness. Really be sure to apply thin coats or it can bubble up and not look cute. We don’t want that.
I did it! And it looked cute! This was super exciting for me. I do feel like there is a learning curve with applying thin coats, capping tips, cleaning up the skin before curing, etc. By my second application, I felt even more confident.
Let’s talk about this lamp. It is $65 and has three settings, one for 99 seconds (perfect for Colour Cure polish), 60 seconds (perfect for the Clear Colour Cure), and 30 seconds (the best setting to cure your TruShine Gel!).
It starts automagically when you put your hand under the light (very Star Trekky) and auto stops as well.
The coolest part? The bottom is magnetic and can be removed for pedicures … oh yes.
Colour Cure also has a Clear color. This is PERFECT for applying on top of nail wraps to add durability and help them seal in and last longer (like we have done with Trushine). You can also apply the clear over polish or lacquer that has completely dried – YES YES YES! Now you can have your favorite lacquer last that much longer!
The other colors do not require a top coat, but if you have thinner more peel-y (is that a word?) nails, you could add a clear coat to the top for strength as well.
FAQ: Yes you can use the TruShine lamp with Colour Cure. The downside: you have to cure 3-4 times for each coat. Wah wah wah. I love that fact that this product is QUICK, so I would recommend getting the Colour Cure lamp if you love your gel manis. It will cure the TruShine even quicker!
Each Colour Cure color is $35. The great part is that it’s all you need, no need to purchase separate bottles of base and top coat. Currently there are 10 colors to choose from, more colors will be released on September 1.
Things I Didn't Love:
Ok, one more thing I love, you can stick your whole hand in the lamp so you don’t have to cure your thumbs separately. That said, if you don’t turn your thumb up toward the light the right way, the side of your thumb might not cure properly. So make sure you turn that thumb up to the light.
It is like polish, so cleaning up around the nail area is necessary before curing. I did a pretty good job my first two times, but I still had some pooling on my pinky. I know it will take time and I might never be perfect at application, BUT because of how forgiving the product is, and how FAST it applies, I will definitely continue incorporating Colour Cure into my manicures (I will keep on using my nail wraps with it!! #cantstopwontstop!)
Speaking of, you can apply nail wraps on top, just be sure to buff off the shine before you apply.
Now that you know what Colour Cure is, and how sweet it is, you might be ready to give it a try. I would love to offer you free shipping on your Colour Cure order!

What do you think about this hybrid polish? Are you a die-hard gel polish lover? Do you like the ease of lacquer but hate how it chips so fast? I would recommend that you give this product a try!
